I also have tried contacting Mike after my mother cancelled her move. The reason she cancelled was based on some questions about Mike's correct licensing--he said one thing, and the CA state agency issuing licenses said another. Because of this, mom told Mike she felt uncomfortable hiring him, so he told her he would refund the 50% amount she had paid him. She did this about 2 weeks before the scheduled move. He told her and he told me, over the phone, that the check would be to her by mid-Aug. No check and now he is not returning any phone calls (and there have been numerous ones!) We are in the process of filing a complaint with the California Attorney General's Office or PUC Transportation Licensing and Enforcement Branch and through the Dept of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, once we determine who has jurisdiction. Mom's would have been an interstate (CA to NV). Mike seems to be showing a disregard for good business practices, and has, so far, not been a man of his word. My mom only wants her money back.
