Review 8/7/2009

The sales representative (SR) who prepared an estimate for our apartment gave us a “binding” estimate that he said he could not charge us a dime more for in order to move our belongings. In the estimate the SR put down a number of boxes that he would move. We asked the SR who would be responsible if his estimate was off, and the SR said he would be. On the moving day we had significantly more boxes than his estimate, but included no new items without his knowledge, and the SR demanded more money to make the move. After extensive haggling, which shouldn’t have happened to begin with, the SR added $200 to the quote in order to complete the move.
When bidding on the move the SR said, given our time frame, he could deliver our belongings within a couple days of our requested date, 7/31/09. When called the week before the requested date the SR said our belongings would be delivered August 1, 2, or at the latest on the 3. When called on 7/31 the SR said our belongings left California for Virginia on 7/30 and would not arrive until 8/4 as “moving trucks only go your direction on the 1st and 15th of the month.” By 8/4 the SR stopped returning numerous phone calls. When reached by us the SR later told us our belongings left California on 8/2 and we would not receive them until 8/6. On 8/5 the SR told us he would tell us by 5:00PM PST on 8/6 where our belongings were and when we would receive them. After several phone calls at 7:00PM PST on 8/6 the SR could not be reached.
This continues as of 8/7/09.
