My band Snatch Magnet (facebook.com/snatchmagnet) has been with A&R Select since 08. They helped with our press kit, sent us out to hundreds of college radio stations, and pitched our music to movies and TV. We got play on a lot of radio stations, which to the best I can tell, generated the bump in itunes sales that we saw. Our guitar player had some health problems, so we weren't able to capitalize on the attention with a tour, but they told us they'd run the campaign again for us when we're ready for free, with our newer music.
We didn't see any placements until this year. They placed our music into the movie "Freelancers" with Robert Dinero, which was awesome. It more than returned what we invested and the residuals are still coming in through BMI. We even got to go to the premier at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Now, they're trying to get 2 more of our songs in a movie with John Cusack.
We're not the biggest band on the planet yet, but the opportunities were definitely worth the investment.
